What is the cost for tutoring?

Our rate is $50 per hour for 1 student and $60 per hour for 2 students. Group rates are available.

Do you provide tutors only in Vancouver?

We provide tutors throughout Metro Vancouver: Abbotsford, Aldergrove, Burnaby, Chilliwack, Cloverdale, Coquitlam, Delta, Fort Langley, Horseshoe Bay, Ladner, Langley, Maple Ridge, Mission, New Westminster, North Vancouver, Port Coquitlam, Pitt Meadows, Port Moody, Richmond, Steveston, Surrey, Tsawwassen, Vancouver, White Rock, West Vancouver.

What is the minimum length of a tutoring session?

One hour

Do you provide tutoring in your office?

No, tutoring is in the client’s home, although some of our tutors will tutor in their own homes or at a mutual location such as a library.

Do you provide tutoring during the summer?

Yes. Many of our tutors are available during the summer.

Are your tutors qualified?

Yes, they are. Our tutors have education degrees and/or a master’s degree or PhD related to their teaching subjects.

Are your tutors currently teaching?

Most of our tutors are teaching full or part-time, or are teachers on call. Some are retired.

Have your tutors been through the Government Criminal Record checks?

Yes. All of our tutors are required to do this before joining our service.

Do you tutor students who are taking correspondence (distance education) courses?

Yes. We also tutor students who are home-schooled or who are taking online courses.

Can you bill third-party funding organizations for tutoring?

Yes, we work with ICBC, Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) – Autism Funding Programs, First Nations Bands and other funding organizations. They provide funds to us for our tutors work and you do not have to pay the tutors directly.

How do I make payments?

You pay the tutor directly, after each session, by cash or cheque.

Do I have to sign a contract?

No. Tutors are paid on a session by session basis.

What is your cancellation policy?

If it is necessary to cancel an appointment, at least 24 hours’ notice must be given or the hourly fee will be charged.

Do you charge GST?

No, we don’t

You will have the opportunity to correspond with the tutors and choose which one is right for your student and your family schedule. Each tutor contact sent to you has a brief biography to give you an idea of the tutor’s qualifications and experience. Tutors are qualified to teach in BC, have tutoring experience and a good knowledge of the curriculum.
